Do you find post-vacation re-entry as difficult as I do? I think that returning to work midweek made it even harder. Note to self: always…ALWAYS…plan on at least one post-vacation recovery day. It’s a tricky balance as a freelancer, because you want to milk the most out of your time off, but you also want a paycheck! On the upside, I’m even more determined to create live/work opportunities so that we can continue exploring the world while also bringing home the bacon. We had plenty of time in the car to discuss where our next stint might be. New Zealand, maybe?? We’ll see. I’ve also reminded myself that we have a beautiful Seattle summer ahead of us, so I’m not ready to head off just yet. In fact, I’m really enjoying working outside right now with my new #crowworker.
Whew, boy! So much controversy this week over the new Instagram logo. What do you think? Personally, I love it!! But, there are many dissenting opinions. If you’re on #TeamClassic, don’t stress – you can always change it back.
Did you watch The Good Wife series finale? I’ve been a fan since the start, despite some ups and downs over the life of the show. This season has been strong – as has been Alicia’s hair game. Love the more relaxed look! But, ending a show is hard and, honestly, I’m torn about how they wrapped it up. I appreciated the creators’ perspective. [Spoiler Alert]
More and more, I’m noticing that individuality is the new homogeneity. There are so many terrific ads promoting the trend of being you. (While you wear / eat / do their thing, of course. Ha. Well, you gotta start somewhere…) The Dove Real Beauty Campaign is turning 10 (!), and the message is finally catching on. These ads from Burt’s Bees, H&M, and TJ Maxx featuring women of diverse ethnicities, sizes, ages, abilities, and more are all great examples.
